EXPERIENCE THE BEST
THE INDIAN OCEAN HAS TO OFFER

Diving is a major attraction here at Mirihi. We have 50 different dive sites conveniently located within an hour’s boat ride, where you can see everything from Manta Rays to Whale Sharks to beautiful coral gardens.
You want to learn how to dive here at Mirihi? Our Ocean-Pro team will take you diving, no matter if you have never dived before and simply want to try it or want to get certified. Our courses, from Discover Scuba Diving all the way to Rescue Diver, are set up so that you make the most of your time on Mirihi.
PROJECT HOPE
Mirihi‘s Project Hope began in 2018 with a few metal frames. Later we added two large-format rope nurseries to increase the flexibility of our coral conservation efforts. Since 2021 under the supervision and care of a resident marine scientist, Mirihi’s coral nursery is growing remarkably well. The nursery frames are situated in just the right amount of current, the water is full of nutrients and has the right temperature for them to thrive. As a result, more than 10 species of corals grow in the nursery, which the team plants them out along Mirihi’s house reef once they have reached the right size and maturity.
In 2022 alone, approximately 800 corals and their accompanying marine life were transplanted into their permanent positions. They have been settling in very well, offering protection to lots of other fish and other residents. Phase 2 of Project Hope has already started, with the next round of coral segments suspended in the waters off Mirihi’s house reef.

Location
Mirihi is conveniently located in the South Ari Atoll and offers access to more than 50 dive sites with multiple Manta Ray Spots, the Whale Shark area, countless channel dives and Thilas among them. With our location being almost centered within the Atoll, we can easily adjust our diving plan to the weather and the currents.
Diving Trips
We offer daily diving trips with our boats, where we do not stick to a rigid schedule. We prefer to check which dive sites you would like to explore and which are the most suitable for the respective conditions. Our house reef is accessible to you at all times, even at night.
Diving Conditions
Diving here at Mirihi is possible all year round. The conditions are mostly affected by the Monsoon winds and therefor the major currents. These currents range from barely noticeable to strong. But don’t worry even with strong currents we can always find places to have easy and relaxed dives.
House Reef
Our house reef is accessible for dives as well. It is home to multiple turtles, eagle rays, a massive school of batfish and many more. There is even a wreck for you to explore. The perfect site for an easy dive to get back into the game – or to explore at night. All our entry level training is done here as well.
Mirihi Wreck
Just 50m out from Mirihi’s house reef, at a depth of 30m lies the Magit, a 25m long transport ship. After a productive life it was intentionally scuttled in 199X and has become a rich and colourful eco system. A group of tiger cowries have found refuge under the hull, a school of serene bat fish floats around the bow, eyeing the divers curiously. Herds of squirrelfish graze at the bottom and a colourful carpet of sponges, tunicates and corals covers every square centimeter of the Magit.
Equipment & Boats
All diving equipment for rent is available with us. We take great care in maintaining and servicing all our dive gear to make sure you have a safe experience with us.
Our diving fleet is composed of two boats. A modern fibre glass boat and a traditional wooden Dhoni. The crew is exceptionally well-trained in aiding divers and the captains know the Atoll inside out.
